Before washing, carefully detangle the hair using a wide-tooth comb. Start from the ends and work toward the root to reduce shedding.

Emulsify the shampoo in your hands and massage into the cap and throughout the hair.

Emulsify the conditioner in your hands, then apply it from the mid-shaft to the ends, avoiding the root and knots. Leave it in for a few minutes before rinsing. Do NOT apply conditioner to the root, as this can loosen the knots in the cap and cause fiber loss.
